is the on-line home of John Doucette of Edmonton, Alberta,
formerly of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. I'm an Assistant Professor
of Engineering Management in the Department of
Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta. The site
you're currently at is generally personal information, photos,
etc. If you're looking for my professional (i.e., academic)
site, you can find that at
http://www.mece.ualberta.ca/~doucette/.
A bit about me:
I
grew up in a small fishing village called Pinkney's Point near
Yarmouth on Nova Scotia's south shore at the mouth of the Bay
of Fundy, which boasts the world's highest tides. My
family is descendent from the Acadians (first French settlers
in North America) so my first language was French, and,
although I am still spoken to in French when I visit my family
in Nova Scotia, I now pretty-much exclusively speak English.
You can view
some information about the Acadians through the links at the
left. I enjoy the outdoors and many sports, including running,
hockey, skiing, softball, and paintball. I'm also a huge
Edmonton Oilers fan.
Guests can move to various
areas of my site by use of the hyperlinks in the site index to the left.
Explore and enjoy. |
